After the village of Wall take the first left at the crossroads (onto the B6318 - known as the military road)

We are half a mile up the hill.
The house is on the left and the Dovecote on the right hand side of the lane

From the West (following Hadrians Wall - the B6318 - known as the military road):

Take the first left after the hamlet of Walwick (just after the beautiful Grade I listed Chesters stables) and just before the entrance to Chesters Roman Fort.

On Foot:

You can find us on the OS map grid ref 907 712 or on google maps.  Lincoln Hill is also marked on the Hadrian’s Wall Trail maps.

Directions walking from the West:
You will walk towards Walwick across a field and the trail directs you right along the lane to Walwick and then left to walk down the main road to Chesters Fort.
To get to us when you leave the field do not follow the trail but TURN LEFT towards Lincoln Hill (not signposted).
Follow the lane for about 1/2 a mile into the hamlet of Lincoln Hill.
At the tiny crossroads TURN RIGHT (there is a postbox on a high wall at the crossroads).
That high wall is round our garden - the gate to the Dovecote is on your left at the end of the high part of the wall.
Our house (East House) is opposite the gate about 20m from the crossroads.
In the morning you don't have to go back the way you came but can go straight down the hill to the main road, just by the entrance to Chesters Fort (so you don't have to walk any extra distance!).

Directions walking from the East:
Just after the entrance to Chesters Fort (after about 100m) turn right onto a small lane (not signposted to anywhere).
Carry on up the lane, past a row of cottages, and East House is 1/2 a mile up the hill on the left hand side.
In the morning you don't have to go back down the hill but can follow the lane on the flat towards Walwick and meet the Trail again there (so you don't have to walk any extra distance!).

Rooms are available from 4pm.  Check out by 10am

There will definitely be someone here from 4pm and usually a lot earlier (if there is no answer at the house please try in the garden across the road).
If you arrive early and we aren't in then you are welcome to go in the garden and sit in the greenhouse or outside depending on the weather.
